Shelby Alcorn joined the Averett University softball program as an assistant coach in August 2019.
Alcorn has four years of collegiate softball experience, playing her first two years at Hood College and her junior and senior year at the University of Mobile. As a freshman at Hood, she earned MAC Commonwealth Honorable Mention honors after batting a team-high .390 on the season. As a senior at Mobile, Alcorn hit .333 and earned Southern States Athletic Conference's All-Academic team in the 2019 season. She recorded a career batting average of .310.
Over the 2019 summer, Alcorn coached in The American Softball Association Pro softball league, working with the Performance Lab team.
Alcorn is currently studying elementary education with a minor in special education at Averett.
