Abby Bailey joined the women’s basketball program as an assistant coach in the summer of 2015.
In her first season as an assistant coach, Bailey helped guide the Cougars to 14 wins while coaching one USA South All-Conference First Team selection.
Bailey, a native of Prince George, Virginia, played basketball at Averett all four years of her collegiate career as a forward. Prior to joining Averett’s coaching staff, Bailey worked as a ninth grade health and physical education teacher for Danville Public Schools.
Bailey graduated in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in physical education, and she is currently pursuing a master’s degree in education at Averett.
