Alixis Roccia joined the Averett University women's lacrosse program as an assistant coach in July 2019.
A native of Fort Mill, South Carolina, Roccia returns to Averett after playing for the program in the first two years of its new era. With the lacrosse program, Roccia tallied 100 goals and 39 assists, while also earning Google Cloud Academic All-America At-Large First Team and Academic All-District First Team honors as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). She was selected to the USA South All-Conference Third Team at midfield in her senior season after earning USA South Honorable Mention Team honors and Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) All-State Second Team accolades as a junior.
Roccia was also a standout on Averett's women's basketball team as a four-year starter who was selected to the USA South East Division Second Team honors and the Google Cloud Academic All-America Third Team as a senior. In the process, she became the first Averett student-athlete to earn Academic All-America distinction in two different sports.
While going to school at Averett, Roccia worked in the university's Student Success Center as a tutor and writing consultant.
Roccia graduated in three years, earning bachelor's degrees in psychology and sociology in 2018. She is currently pursuing her master's degree in education.
