Adrienne Brune began working at Averett University in 2015 and is currently Assistant Professor of Sociology and Program Director of Women's and Gender Studies. She is also a Faculty Athletic Mentor for the women's lacrosse team. She first earned her bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University in 2002 before getting both her Master's and Ph.D from the University of Oklahoma in 2009 and 2014, respectively.
Brune is originally from the Central Michigan area and travels there as often as she can to visit family. In her free time, she enjoys to read, knit, watch hockey, hike, kayak and be outside in general. She lives with her two amazing dogs and is a Detroit Red Wings fan.
