Averett University Athletics

Dr. Richard Ferguson was named the Faculty Athletic Mentor for the women’s soccer team in 2015.
 
Ferguson, a professor of physical education, began teaching at Averett in 1993. He earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education from James Madison University and received his master’s and doctorate’s degree from the University of Virginia.
 
He has served as the FAM for the women’s soccer team for the past seven years.
 
In his spare time, he enjoys running, traveling and working in the yard.
