Averett University Athletics

Dr. James Caldwell is currently in his fourth year as the faculty athletic mentor for Averett University’s women’s volleyball team.
 
Caldwell, a professor and chair of the biology department, came to Averett in 1995. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas and doctorate’s from Wake Forest University.
 
He is an avid supporter of Averett athletics and can be frequently seen at volleyball games where many of the players are also his students. He truly enjoys interacting with student-athletes and providing them with support whenever he can.
