Volleyball senior Sarah Smoot earned the USA South Conference's Player of the Week on Monday. The senior outside hitter from Randleman, North Carolina averaged 3.70 kills, with a .349 hitting percentage, per set as Averett (10-2) posted a 3-0 record last week at the Maryville College Invitational. In a 3-1 win over Covenant College on Friday, Smoot tallied 16 kills and four digs. In a 3-0 victory over the College of Mount St. Joseph on Saturday, Smoot posted seven kills and three digs. Finally, in a 3-0 win over Maryville on Saturday, Smoot totaled 14 kills and one dig. For her efforts, Smoot was named to the Maryville Invitational All-Tournament Team.
