Softball senior Jessica Griffin was named the USA South Conference Player of the Week on Monday. Griffin, a native of Elon, North Carolina, went a combined 7-for-11 (.636) with a 1.182 slugging percentage, 10 RBI, four runs scored, three doubles, one home run and one walk as Averett posted a 3-1 record last week versus USA South competition. In a doubleheader split with Ferrum College, Griffin was a combined 3-for-6 with five RBIs, one run scored and one grand slam.
