Volleyball freshman Lauren Montren was named the USA South Conference Rookie of the Week on Sept. 16. Montren averaged 3.56 kills, with a hitting percentage of .286, and 4.67 digs per set as Averett posted a 2-0 record the previous. In a 3-1 win over Piedmont College, Montren tallied nine kills, 19 digs and one block. In a 3-2 victory over Reinhardt University, Montren notched a double-double of 23 kills and 23 digs to go along with two service aces.
