NOTABLE

The Cougars' 63 rushing attempts surpassed the old mark of 59 set against Southern Virginia University in 2004. Averett's 310 yards on the ground was also a new team record. It eclipsed the 302 yards Averett rushed for in that same game.
• Averett's defense held Methodist without a first down until the 8:48 mark in the fourth quarter. Overall, the Monarchs had just five first downs, with four coming on their only scoring drive of the game. The Cougars have given up just 104 first downs all season, which ranks second among conference teams. Overall, Averett's defense ranks second in the USA South Conference in total defense (291-9) and the Cougars are third among USA South teams in pass defense (132.1).
