There is a lot on the line entering the final week of USA South Conference play. The Averett women will look to get back to their winning ways, while the Averett men will battle for the top spot in the standings. The Cougars host Christopher Newport University on Saturday at the Grant Center, with the women tipping off at 2 p.m. and the men playing at 4 p.m.

The Averett women (11-10, 7-7 USA South) has dropped its last three games after a strong start. Christopher Newport (16-5, 11-3 USA South) pulled out the first meeting between the two teams for a 73-61 victory on Jan. 24 in Newport News. The Captains held off a late Averett rally in that game. Be sure to follow Saturday's game through live stats.

The Averett men (14-8, 7-2 USA South) sit just one game behind Christopher Newport (14-8, 7-1 USA South) in the loss column atop the conference standings. Earning the No. 1 seed in the USA South Tournament has an extra bonus. The top team received a bye in the first round. The Captains came from behind to beat Averett in Newport News earlier this season. The Cougars don't want to let that happen again. Follow the men's action through live stats.

The games will broadcasted online as Tyler Williams and Tom Milstead call the action. The men's game will also be aired locally on ESPN Radio 1063 FM.

There will be a special halftime performance during both games by former Harlem Globetrotter Seth Franco, who now travels all over as a performer and Christian motivational speaker. Learn more about Franco at www.sethfranco.com.

Averett also hosts Shenandoah University on Sunday at the Grant Center.
