Women's tennis drops non-conference match with Randolph

DANVILLE, Va. — Averett University women's tennis fell 7-2 to Randolph College in non-conference action Sunday at the Averett Tennis Courts.

Averett freshman Heidi Sarkkinen remained undefeated in singles play by beating Randolph's Dina Velazco 6-3, 6-1, at the No. 1 spot. The Cougars other point of the match came at No. 4 singles, where freshman Olivia Scott topped Emmie Snead 7-6, 6-1.

Randolph (6-1) won all three doubles matches.

Averett returns to action on Saturday when the Cougars host Sweet Briar College at 11 a.m.
