The Averett University volleyball team opens the 2016 season by hosting non-conference foe Southern Virginia University on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Grant Center.

Live statistics will be available, as well as a live broadcast on the Averett Sports Network.

The Cougars were picked as the preseason favorite in the USA South East Division. Southern Virginia was picked to finish eighth in the Capital Athletic Conference after a 7-21 season a year ago.
