DANVILLE, Va. — Berry College edged the Averett University men's soccer team 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at Daly Field.
An errant pass from an Averett (2-1) defender slipped past the goalkeeper to put Berry (3-1) in front by one at the 34:29 mark.
The Vikings had several chances in the first period to put the game away, but several exceptional defensive plays from second-year freshman goalkeeper
Austin Bramhall and sophomore
Huso Dukic kept the Cougars in the game.
Bramhall recorded seven saves between the sticks for Averett.
The Cougars return to the pitch Sunday when they travel to Greensboro, North Carolina, to take on Guilford College at 2:30 p.m.
