The Averett University softball team opens the 2017 season at a tournament hosted by Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. The Cougars face Rhodes College at 12 p.m., then face fourth-ranked Emory at 2 p.m.

Live stats will be available for both games. Emory will offer a video webcast for its game against Averett. Fans can view that game free in standard definition, but can purchase an HD version.

Averett is in its first season under new head coach Ashley Pyron.
