Women's tennis defeats Greensboro in conference action

DANVILLE, Va. – The Averett University women's tennis team claimed a 7-0 win over conference foe Greensboro College on Saturday afternoon. The remaining two matches were canceled due to lightning in the area.

Averett (3-3, 3-1 USA South) claimed quick wins in doubles as Heidi Sarkkinen and Hannah Mattson took an 8-0 win. In singles, the Cougars managed to get four wins while Sarkkinen got a 6-0, 6-0 win against her opponent as the rest of the Cougars followed up with their own victories.

The Cougars return to the courts on Sunday to face Salem College in conference action at the Averett Tennis Courts.
