The Averett University softball team begins USA South Conference play on Saturday when the Cougars battle Greensboro College in a 1 p.m. doubleheader.

Averett (6-8, 0-0 USA South) lost a pair of non-conference games at Lynchburg College on Thursday, while Greensboro (6-5, 0-0) defeated Guilford College 6-5 on Wednesday in its last game.
