The Averett University softball team will play Ferrum College Friday for a spot in the USA South Conference Tournament championship in LaGrange, Georgia, on Friday at 12 p.m. at the Shuford Softball Complex. Averett, the East No. 2 seed, and Ferrum, the East No. 3 seed, are the two remaining unbeaten teams in the tournament.
 
Live stats will be available for the game. 

The winner will advance to play in Saturday's championship series at 2 p.m. The loser will drop to the loser's bracket and will play Saturday at 10 a.m. for a chance to make it into the championship.

Averett (26-18) picked up a pair of wins Thursday to open the double-elimination round of the USA South Tournament. The Cougars dispatched Huntingdon College 7-2, then edged Maryville College 6-5 in nine innings later in the day.
