The Averett University softball team hosts foe Greensboro College in the opening round of the USA South Conference Tournament on Saturday. The two teams begin the best-of-three series with a 1 p.m. doubleheader at Cougar Field.
 
Live stats and video will be available for both games through the Averett Sports Network. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for senior citizens, students, children and faculty/staff. The first 100 Averett students with ID get in free, as well as the first 50 Averett faculty and staff.

Games 1 and 2 of the best-of-three series will be played on Saturday. If necessary, a third game will be played Sunday at 1 p.m.

Averett (22-18, 14-8 USA South) is the No. 2 seed in the East Division, while Greensboro (21-15, 13-9 USA South) is the No. 5 seed in the East. Averett ended the regular season with a sweep of Ferrum College, while Greensboro split with N.C. Wesleyan College.
