DANVILLE, Va. — The Averett University women's soccer team lost to non-conference foe Pfeiffer University 2-1 in double overtime on Wednesday night on Daly Field at Frank R. Campbell Stadium.

Christine Harris scored her first goal of the season from an assist by junior
Eimear Reddin to give Averett (2-3-2) the early 1-0 advantage in the sixth minute. The Cougars defense held the Falcons scoreless for the remainder of the first half.
In the second half, Pfeiffer (5-3) tied the game on a goal from Maggie Walker in the 60th minute. For the remainder of regulation and the first overtime period it was a battle between the two teams as to who would score first.
In the second overtime period at the 101:08 mark, Cayci Eaton scored her 10th goal of te season to lift the Falcons to a 2-1 win.
Junior
Bailee Brown completed the game with 13 saves for the Cougars.
Averett returns to action on Saturday when it travel to Rocky Mount, North Carolina, to face N.C. Wesleyan College at 4 p.m.
