GREENSBORO, N.C.—The Averett University women's tennis team claimed a 7-2 non-conference victory against Guilford College on Sunday afternoon.
 
Averett (1-1) got off to an early start with two wins in doubles play. Junior Heidi Sarkkinen and senior Hannah Mattson won their match 8-1 at the No. 1 spot while freshmen Eleanor Crane and partne Carolyne Dunn came out on top with an 8-0 victory.
 

Later on, Sarkkinen, Mattson, Crane, Dunn, and freshman Tyler Goad also clinched their singles matches.
 
The Cougars will host to Winston-Salem University on March 3rd for a 1 p.m. non-conference match.
