The Averett University softball team will battle Meredith College in a USA South Conference Tournament elimination game at 10 a.m. Thursday in LaGrange, Georgia, at the Shuford Softball Complex.

The No. 3 seed in the East Division, Averett (19-21) defeated West No. 2 seed Piedmont College 3-2 to open play Friday, then fell 5-1 to East No. 1 Salem College. Meredith (24-14), the No. 2 seed in the East, dropped its opener 2-0 to Covenant College on Friday.
