DANVILLE, Va. — Averett University women's tennis falls to Ferrum College on senior day 5-4 at the Averett Tennis Courts.
 
Averett (7-9, 4-4 USA South) captured one win in doubles play in the No.1 spot from junior Heidi Sarkkinen and senior Hannah Mattson 8-1.
 
Sarkkinen also was victorious at No. 1 singles, beating Ferrum's Morgan Scott 6-2, 6-0. At No. 2 singles, senior Mattson came out on to in her match 6-3,6-0 to Alexandria White. The Cougars final win in singles play was from freshman Eleanor Crane who won her match 6-0,6-2.
 
Averett return to the courts on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. when it travels to Greensboro, North Carolina to play Greensboro College.
