DANVILLE, Va.
— The Averett University men's soccer team fell to N.C. Wesleyan College, 6-1, in conference action on Tuesday night at Daly Field at Frank R. Campbell Stadium.
Averett (3-8, 1-5 USA South) held the advantage for most of the first half, as sophomore
Baste Endresen scored his first goal of the season off an assist from sophomore
Johnny Kummander in the 17th minute to give the Cougars an early 1-0 lead. N.C. Wesleyan (8-2-1, 6-1 USA South) scored in the 44th minute to tie the game at 1-1 heading into the halftime break. The Battling Bishops pulled away from there, scoring five second-half goals to put the game out of reach.
Endresen led the team with two shots on the game, both of which were on goal. Sophomore
Patrick Miller also had a shot on goal. In goal, junior
Colton Dutchess notched a career-high 13 saves.
The Cougars return to action on Friday at 4 p.m. when they host Covenant College.
