The Series: Averett is 4-2 all-time against LaGrange in a series that dates back to 2012. Averett is 1-1 against the Panthers in Danville. The Cougars have won three in a row against the Panthers, including a 38-14 victory last season at LaGrange.
Averett at a Glance: Averett is fresh off a 48-0 road win against Greensboro College to start conference play last Saturday. The Cougars' defense allowed just 9 yards of total offense to the Pride, while the offense shined. Senior quarterback Jacob Wright earned USA South Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors after throwing for four touchdowns and running in another in the win at Greensboro. 
LaGrange at a Glance: LaGrange fell to N.C. Wesleyan College 52-35 in its USA South opener last weekend. LaGrange quarterback Shedrick Lindsey ranks third in the conference at 196.8 passing yards a game, just behind Averett's Wright. Running back Brendon Scott leads the conferene with eight rushing touchdowns and is second at 92 rushing yards a game. While the Panthers put up points, they also have allowed 28.3 points per game to opponents this season
