The Series: Averett is 3-6 all-time against Eastern Mennonite dating back to the 1995-96 season, including a 1-2 mark against the Royals in Harrisonburg. EMU won the last meeting 90-74 in Danville on Nov. 8, 2018.
Averett at a Glance:  The Cougars return a roster filled with experience. Averett brings back all five primary starters from last season, as well as several others who had spot starts. The roster features four seniors, four juniors, one redshirt sophomore and three sophomores. The Cougars, in their sixth season under head coach David Doino, also brought in a talented freshman class of six players. Last season, Averett overcame a slow start following a tough non-conference schedule and multiple injuries to finish the season strong by knocking off the top seed in the USA South Conference Tournament and advancing to the semifinals. The Cougars went 9-18 overall with an 8-9 mark in conference play in 2018-19. Averett faced Division I High Point University on Oct. 30 in an exhibition, falling 79-68.
