AUSTIN, Texas — Averett University senior
Alixis Roccia was voted to the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division III Women's Basketball Third Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Roccia, a guard from Fort MIll, South Carolina, had a strong final campaign for the Cougars, who won their first USA South Conference East Division regular season crown in program history. She totaled 10.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.3 steals this season while earning USA South East Division Second Team honors. Roccia graduated in three years with a 4.00 grade point average while majoring in psychology in May 2018. A dual-sport student-athlete, she returned for her final season of basketball eligibility while pursuing her master's degree in education and has a 4.00 GPA as well.
Roccia was eligible for Google Cloud Academic All-America® honors after earning Google Cloud Academic All-District® First Team honors for District 5.
It is the fourth consecutive year the Averett women's basketball team has had an Google Cloud Academic All-America® selection as Roccia joins former teammate
Samm Chandler, who earned the honor for three consecutive seasons while being named the Academic All-America® of the Year last season.
