— The Averett University men's soccer team lost to LaGrange College, 3-1, on the road in USA South Conference action on Saturday.
The first half was a quiet one, with neither team scoring in the opening 45 minutes of play. LaGrange (3-4, 2-1 USA South) struck first in the second half, scoring in the 53rd minute of play to take a 1-0 lead. Averett (3-5, 1-2 USA South) answered shortly after, as sophomore

Ty Michelson to tie the game at 1. However, the Panthers added goals in the 81st and 89th minutes to pull away and hand the Cougars their second loss in conference play of the season.
For Averett, Michelson and fellow sophomores
Kellen Fees and
Johnny Kummander all notched two shots each. In goal, junior
Colton Dutchess made five saves.
The Cougars return to action on Sunday when they face Huntingdon College on the road at 2 p.m. ET in more conference action.
