DEMOREST, Ga.
— On the second and final day of the Piedmont College Invitational, the Averett University women's soccer team lost to Oglethorpe University, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon.
Oglethorpe (3-0) pulled ahead early with two goals in the first 26 minutes as Averett (0-5) trailed 2-0 at halftime. The Stormy Petrels got on the board again in the second half to take a 3-0 lead at the 55-minute mark, a score that held for the remainder of the game.

Emily Meador took five of the team's seven shots on the day, while sophomore
Ashley Ruelo and freshman
Josephine Hayes recorded the other two. In goal, sophomore
Morgann Dills made three saves.
The Cougars get the week to rest up before returning home to take on Maryville College on Sept. 15 at 4:30 p.m.
