The Series: The Cougars are 7-6 all-time against William Peace. Averett has won five of the last six meetings with the Pacers, including a 74-69 road win in Raleigh earlier this season on Jan. 17.
Averett at a Glance: Averett men's basketball continues conference play by hosting William Peace University on Wednesday. Averett has won six in a row following an 83-65 home victory over Pfeiffer University last Saturday. Averett freshman Corey Baldwin was named the USA South Conference's Rookie of the Week on Monday. Baldwin averaged 13.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game as the Cougars posted a 2-0 record last week against USA South competition, including a career-high 17 points with seven rebounds, one assist and one steal against Pfeiffer. Averett's defense is among the best in the USA South. The Cougars are allowing only 66.8 points per game, which leads the league. Averett is holding opponents to a league-low 40.2 percent from the field.
