RALEIGH, N.C. — Averett University volleyball dropped a conference match 3-0 at William Peace University on Friday afternoon.
William Peace (9-9, 4-1 USA South) won 25-21, 27-25 and 25-22 in three close sets with Averett (11-4, 3-2 USA South).
Junior
Morgan Barnes stood out for the Cougars with 12 kills while swinging .478. Junior
Lauren Montren added eight kills and 11 digs, while sophomore
Erin Gray led Averett with 17 digs. Freshman
Carlie Deason chipped in 13 digs for Averett.
Averett returns to action on the road Wednesday at Greensboro College with a 7 p.m. conference match.
