Averett's Stevens selected as president-elect for Women Leaders in College Sports

KANSAS CITY — Women Leaders in College Sports announced that Averett University's Meg Stevens will serve on a three-year executive track, serving as president-elect in 2021-22.
 
Stevens, Averett's Vice President, Director of Athletics and Campus Operations, will first serve as president-elect before becoming president in 2022-23 and past-president in 2023-24.
 
"I'm honored to be selected to serve with an incredible governing board and be able to work with an remarkable national office staff and CEO," Stevens said. "This is a wonderful opportunity to represent Averett athletics and NCAA Division III on a national stage."
 
Stevens noted that Women Leaders in College Sports has meant a lot to her career and she's excited to "lift others" and give back to the organization.
 
"It's an organization I'm very passionate about and I am excited to be a part of the leadership group that continues to pave the way for women in college athletics," she said.
 
Stevens was among the 2020-21 National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Division III Athletics Director of the Year Award recipients last March and was named the 2020 Women Leaders in College Sports Division III Nike Administrator of the Year in September 2020.
 
Stevens has served as Averett's Director of Athletics since July 2013 and was promoted to Vice President, Director of Athletics and Campus Operations in 2020.
