DANVILLE, Va.— The Averett University women's soccer team picked up its first draw in conference play at home Saturday afternoon to Pfeiffer University 1-1 on Daly Field at Frank R. Campbell Stadium.
 
Each team struggled to find their respective offensive games in the first few moments of the match as the teams went into half scoreless. In the 69th minute Pfeiffer (1-10-1, 1-5-1 USA South) ramped up their attack and found the back of the net giving the Falcons the one goal advantage. 
 
Just 10 minutes later the Cougars were able to equalize after freshman Celia de Diego earned a penalty kick in the 79th minute for her 15th goal on the year.
 
Neither team could find the back of the net during the remaining time of regulation and the match entered overtime where also neither team could finish the afternoon with a golden goal.
 
The Cougars back in action Wednesday when they travel to N.C. Wesleyan College with kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
