ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — The Averett University women's soccer team dropped an away conference match against N.C. Wesleyan College 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon on Scalf Field.
Averett (5-6-2, 3-4-1 USA South) was held scoreless for the first time all year only totaling four shots with two of those being on goal.Â
N.C. Wesleyan (5-9-1, 3-5-0 USA South) out shot the Cougars 10-6 for the game which proved to be the difference. The Battling Bishops headed into the halftime break with a 1-0 lead after scoring in the 31st minute.
The Cougars were not able to capitalize on second half opportunities to find the back of the net.
Averett is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 23, at 6 p.m. when it travels to Methodist University.
