DEMOREST, Ga. — The Averett University women's basketball program fell short 58-55 against Huntingdon College on Saturday during the final game of the East-West Challenge hosted at Piedmont University inside Cave Arena.
Averett (0-4, 0-0 USA South) was led by senior
Courtney Hunt who had a season-high 13 points and three rebounds. Fellow senior Camryn
Lunsford was second on the team in scoring with nine points and eight rebounds.
The Cougars out scored the Hawks 24-9 in the second quarter, giving Averett an 11-point advantage at halftime.
Huntingdon (2-1, 0-0 USA South) stormed out into the third quarter, outscoring Averett 19-7 giving it the second half push needed to come back in the ball game.
Averett is back in action when it travels to Randolph-Macon college for the Randolph-Macon Tip-Off Classic on Nov. 19 at 8 p.m.
