DANVILLE, Va. — The Averett University women's basketball program dropped a non-conference game 72-43 against Mary Washington University Tuesday afternoon inside the Grant Center.
Averett (2-8) popped out to an 15-11 lead at the end of the first quarter but struggled before the half only scoring five points in quarter number two.
Mary Washington (9-1) outscored the Cougars 22-5 in the second quarter and was led by Tory Martin and Jordan Carpenter who had 10 points each.
The Cougars were led by senior
Rana Davis-Robinson with 11 points and seven rebounds which were team-highs each.
Averett is back in action when they Pfeiffer University Tuesday Jan. 4th at 7 p.m.
