Women's basketball ends season in exhibition against Christopher Newport

DANVILLE, Va.  — The Averett University women's basketball program concluded its 2021 season with a 108-58 loss in an exhibition game with perennial powerhouse Christopher Newport University.

The Cougars were led by two freshman in Lanie Bethel and Demi Case. Bethel tallied 11 points while Case added 12 points and three rebounds.

Averett finished the year 4-8 (4-8 USA South) which was not good enough to make the USA South conference tournament.
