DANVILLE, Va. — The Averett University men's tennis team fell 9-0 on senior day against the University of Mary Washington Saturday afternoon at the Averett Tennis Courts.
Averett (5-3) fell in straight sets in each singles matchup. Sophomore
Jorge Figueroa battled tough in No. 1 singles falling 4-6, 2-6. Freshman
Josh Bottrell played the most highly contested match of the day at No. 6 singles falling 4-6, 3-6.
Mary Washington (2-2) took all three doubles matches as well. The closest doubles match was at No. 2 doubles with the duo of Figueroa and Sophomore
Evgeniy Bogdasaryan who fell 8-4.
The Cougars look to bounce back at Washington and Lee University Monday at 4 p.m.
