LEXINGTON, Va. — The Averett University men's tennis team dropped a non-conference match 7-2 at Washington and Lee University Monday afternoon on Upper Courts.
Averett (5-4) only earned one point each in singles and doubles play. Washington and Lee (7-1) is nationally ranked #32 in the country.
Sophomore
Jorge Figueroa earned the lone victory at No. 1 singles 6-7, 7-4, 10-8. Figueroa was also apart of the doubles victory along with fellow sophomore
Evgeniy Bogdasaryan at No. 2 doubles, winning 8-7 (7-4).
The Cougars look to bounce back when they host North Carolina Wesleyan College, Wednesday, at 2 p.m.
