DANVILLE, Va. — Averett University volleyball defeated Mary Baldwin University 3-0 in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday night at the Grant Center. The Cougars won 25-11, 25-10 and 25-14.
Averett (9-6) hit .422 as a team in the lopsided victory. Senior
McKenzie Miller had 38 assists and seven digs while setting a balanced attack. Freshman
Lanie Ouzts led the team with eight kills, while sophomore
Morgan Barnes had seven kills and sophomore
Jessica Beam had six kills. Freshmen
Erin Gray and
Skylyn Ostwalt led the team with 15 digs and 11 digs, respectively.
The Cougars swept both meetings against Mary Baldwin (0-13) and improved to 30-0 all-time against the Fighting Squirrels.
Averett returns to action with a non-conference road trip to Pfeiffer University on Thursday.
