DANVILLE, Va. — The Averett University women's tennis program dropped a home conference match 6-3 against North Carolina Wesleyan College on Wednesday afternoon at the Averett Tennis Courts.
Averett (6-3, 2-1 USA South) saw freshman
Paula Ryhsen win her No. 4 singles matchup 6-2, 7-5. At No. 5 singles, sophomore
Alejandra Garcia earned a victory winning 6-3, 6-4.
N.C. Wesleyan (4-6, 2-0 USA South) had to adjust their lineup moving their No. 6 singles representative into the No. 5 slot and a reserve into the No. 6 singles match.
In doubles action, the Cougars earned the lone point from the duo of Ryhsen and Garcia at No. 3 doubles.
The Cougars are back in action when they host Methodist University, Friday, at 2 p.m.
