VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Freshman Anton Lindberg struck for the game-winning goal two minutes into the first overtime in Averett University men's soccer's 1-0 win over Eastern Mennonite University on Sunday. 
 
Averett (3-3) had chances through regulation to find the back of the net, racking up a 22-10 shot advantage with 12 shots on frame. 
 
However, Eastern Mennonte (0-5) managed to keep the Cougars in check until the opening minutes of overtime when senior Patrick Miller found the foot of Lindberg for the game-clinching goal. 
 
Sophomore Tyler Yates picked up the shutout for Averett in net, recording six saves for his second shutout of the season. 
 
The Cougars return back to the road on Wednesday when they travel to Greensboro, North Carolina for a 7 p.m. battle with Guilford College.
