FREDERICKSBURG, Va.
— Averett University women's tennis competed in the ITA Fall Regionals hosted by the University of Mary Washington this past weekend.
Averett won 10 matches and only lost 2 in day two, making their overall weekend stats 22 wins and 6 losses.

Alejandra Garcia and sophomore
Paula Ryhsen earned the B2 doubles draw championship after winning in the semifinals match 8-2 and taking the finals match 8-3.
In the second day of singles action, freshman
Maxence Lippens earned her first collegiate singles win 8-6 in a consolation match. In the B4 singles matches, Ryhsen continued her success winning 8-2 in the semifinals and 8-6 in the final. Freshman
Keira Gunning and Freshman
Linnea Sjostrom Krook earned an all Averett final in te B5 singles match with Gunning out dueling Sjostrom 7-6(3), 6-2.
Averett also took the championship in the B6 and B7 singles matches as Garcia ran away in the B6 draw winning the final 8-4 with junior
Nakia-Lee Goodall cruising to the victory in the final in the B7 draw 8-0.
The Cougars are back in action at the Battle of the Blue Ridge hosted by Sweet Briar College on Oct. 9-10.
