ROME, Ga. — Averett University volleyball senior Sarah Shropshire was named the USA South Conference's Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

An outside hitter from Wilmington, North Carolina, Shropshire averaged 3.88 kills and 1.12 digs per set, to go along with a .412 hitting percentage, as the Cougars posted a 5-0 record last week with wins over Ferrum College, Washington and Lee University, Shenandoah University, Oglethorpe University and Guilford College. Shropshire's week highs included 24 kills, eight digs, five blocks and one service ace (twice) while she was named MVP of the Cougar Classic after Averett went 4-0 during the two-day tournament.
