DANVILLE, Va. — The Averett University women's basketball program rattled off back to back conference wins this weekend after a 68-61 victory over William Peace University on Saturday afternoon inside the Grant Center.Â
Averett (4-8 4-1 USA South) was led by senior
Camryn Lunsford who tallied 11 points and eight rebounds while fellow senior
Courtney Hunt added 10 points. The Cougars also had three players with nine points each spreading the wealth equally.

William Peace (3-9, 2-4 USA South) entered the second quarter of play with a five-point lead before being outscored by the Cougars 18-8 and trailing 33-28 at the half.
The game went back and forth in the second half as the Pacers led by one heading into the final quarter of action. It was a 9-2 run by the Cougars in the fourth quarter to create some breathing room and help Averett secure another conference victory.
Averett is back in action Jan. 14, when it travels to Greensboro College with tip-off set for 2 p.m.
