DANVILLE, Va. – The Averett University women's soccer team took down Randolph College 1-0 on Daly Field at Frank R. Campbell Stadium in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play on Wednesday night.
Averett (4-6-1, 2-3-0 ODAC) and Randolph (5-3-3, 1-3-1 ODAC) would trade possessions throughout he the first half.
Three Cougars would record shots in the first half.
In the 34th minute of play the Averett defense would come up with a big time save to keep the game scoreless headed into halftime.
In the 51st minute of play Junior
Katri Kakko would net the game-winner off a corner kick to secure the Cougars 1-0 victory over the Wildcats.
The Cougars are back in action this weekend when they travel to Eastern Mennonite University on Saturday, Oct. 15 for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
