ATLANTA, Ga. - The Averett University volleyball team took down Saint Mary's College (Ind.) in a five-set thriller on Saturday afternoon to wrap up play at the Emory College Invitational.
Saint Mary's (5-17, 1-5 MIAA) took the opening set 25-19 over the Cougars and the second set 25-22, before Averett (16-9, 9-2 ODAC) would win three straight sets (25-17, 25-14, 15-13) to complete the comeback.
Junior
Sarah Marlowe totaled 14 kills in the match, with junior
Emma Nash recording 12 and senior
Morgan Barnes recording 11.
Kinsley Stevens handed out 25 assists and
Erin Gray tallying 25 digs while
Kayleigh Gentry recorded 16 digs. Nash also contributed five blocks while Gray recorded five assists.
Averett is back in action when it travels to Roanoke College on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. start time to finish Old Domion Athletic Conference regular season play.
