FERRUM, Va.- The Averett University Women's basketball team fell to Ferrum College 75-80 on the road to open Old Dominion Athletic Conference play on Wednesday.
Averett (1-3, 0-1 ODAC) and Ferrum (1-3,1-0 ODAC) would exchange leads for the entirety of the contest with the game being tied five times and having nine lead changes. The Cougars largest lead of the night was nine points while the Panthers was 14.
Freshman
Elisa Harris lead the offensive efforts for the Cougars with 17 points, making Harris' second straight game with more than 15 points. In her first collegiate appearance freshman
Ny'Kerasia Coleman recorded 12 points all from behind the three point arc. Junior
Talia Prosper chipped in nine points while freshman
Rayanna Evans and junior
Kalie Fleming both had eight points. Sophomore
Olivia Garner pulled down a career-high 10 rebounds while Fleming had six.
As a team, the Cougars shot a season-high 40.9% from the three point line while pulling down 40 rebounds.
Averett is back in action on Saturday, Nov. 19 at home against Randolph-Macon College at 2 p.m.
