The Series:  Averett is 6-5 all-time against Pfeiffer. The Cougars won 71-56 in Danville and 83-81 at Pfeiffer when the two schools met last season during the regular season when Averett was conference foes with the Falcons in the USA South.
Averett at a Glance:  Averett opens the 2022-23 season at home against non-conference foe Pfeiffer University. The two schools were conference opponents in the USA South Conference before Averett moved to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference on July 1, 2022 ... Averett was picked ninth in the 2022-23 Old Dominion Athletic Conference's preseason poll. The Cougars enter into their inaugural season in the ODAC this winter coming off a conference title and NCAA appearance last season in their final campaign in the USA South Conference. Averett went 17-12 (11-3) last season in the USA South while winning the USA South East Division regular season crown and cutting down the nets at the USA South Tournament championship to earn a postseason berth.
Pfeiffer at a Glance: Pfeiffer finished third in the USA South East Division standings last season. The Falcons, who were picked third in the newly slimmed down USA South preseason poll, lost 111-71 in a Division I exhibition at High Point University on Monday night.
