ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — Averett University women's basketball saw its two-game winning streak come to an end with a loss to North Carolina Wesleyan College 87-65 Saturday afternoon.
Averett (6-18, 6-11 USA South) got a career-high from sophomore
Talia Prosper with 20 points while also adding five rebounds. Senior
Courtney Hunt also added 14 points for the Cougars.
N.C. Wesleyan (15-10, 13-5 USA South) was able to outscore Averett 29-15 in the second quarter and headed into the halftime break with a 16-point lead.
The Cougars fought hard in the second half but could never fully recover from the second quarter.

Averett returns home on Sunday for a conference matchup with Mary Baldwin University at 2 p.m. for the final game of the 2021-22 season.
